Back to School – Tips, Hints and Hair

Published: 13 Sep, 2023

Whether the time has flown, or you’ll be glad to get back in to your routine, back to school can be both a time-consuming and costly task. New uniforms, stationary and everything that goes with getting your little ones back to school is something every parent has to think about.

Hair First

First and foremost, and of course from our point of view; the endless summer days, swimming, beach trips and muddy days at the park will have taken it’s toll on your children’s hair. So get them booked in for a freshen up. Get those damaged ends refreshed with a good trim.

And with school photographs usually taken within the first month, it’s important your little ones are looking their best. After all, we all know the pain of a bad school pic coming back to haunt us!

Uniform Savings

Without a doubt, uniform costs are the biggest outlay at this time of year. And with more and more schools opting for logos and school branded clothing, it can be really tricky to make a saving. But fear not, supermarkets are your friend. It would seem all the supermarkets, even the likes of Lidl and Aldi are releasing their own range of uniform essentials. Brands like Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s have amazing quality pieces using treated fabric technology to repel stains and dirt.

Accessorise Maximise

Stationery, bags, lunch boxes – it all adds up, but it doesn’t have to money-wise. With brands like Poundland and Home Bargains doing amazing quality, trend led accessories, you don’t have to break the bank when it comes to those little extras.

Don’t forget yourself…

And finally after all that expense, running around and general mayhem, it’s important you don’t forget to look after you too. Being a parent is pretty tough, so take time for yourself. And of course, what better way to do that than a trip to the salon? We might be bias, but there’s nothing like a relaxing treatment and rejuvenating hair cut to get you feeling a bit more like yourself again after a tough six weeks!
